Charlestowne Hotels – Surfside Beach Oceanfront Hotel
We worked directly with Charlestowne Hotels, Surfside’s management and marketing agency, to create video content for the hotel’s website. This was our third hotel video shoot of 2017 with Charlestowne Hotels. We planned a three-day shoot with the goal of creating a series of three approximately 30-second videos and five cinemagraphs (short endlessly looping videos) for the hotel to use on their website. We collaborated with a producer from Charlestowne Hotels to create a shot list and schedule for the shoot that focused on the hotel’s natural surroundings, the abundance of restaurants and bars just footsteps away, and the hotel’s amenities.
Nature & Destination
We were blessed with beautiful sunrises and sunsets during our stay in Surfside Beach. The team filmed from sunrise through sunset two days in a row to make sure we captured the hotel and its surroundings at their best. The hotel is located right next to the Surfside Beach Pier, which was partially destroyed in a hurricane a year prior to our video shoot. The trick in making this video was to touch on that damaged fixture, so viewers are getting a true lay of the land, but not to include it in too many shots.
Food & Beverage
A big draw of the Surfside Oceanfront Hotel is its proximity to a wide variety of restaurants and bars, many of which the hotel has negotiated with to get exclusive discounts for their guests. The final day of consisted of filming 3 restaurants in a row, and eating waaaaay too much food.
Cinemagraphs are easy to create in bulk, due to the relatively minimal amount of filming and editing time needed. Thus, with a little planning, we are easily able build a few cinemagraphs into every shoot.
